First Inning Bets In The MLB

First Inning Bets In The MLB

If you ever get tired of betting straight games in the MLB, you might try betting on who might score the first run in the first inning.  This is a great option for you to try and earn some money.   First inning bets are exactly what they sound like, you bet on whether a run will be scored in the first inning of a game.  This is not as easy as it sounds since the odds of this happening are not exactly 50/50.  In fact, this type of bet does take research, but it can be very profitable.  First inning bets  uses a money line.  A first inning bet is not an exact science, but it can be a fun change of pace as well as profitable.

A first inning bet gives baseball bettors the opportunity to know if they have won or lost their wager usually within 20 minutes rather than waiting the full nine innings.  Because of this, first inning bet is starting to become increasingly popular with baseball bettors.

The first inning baseball bet is simply a bet that a run will be scored in the first inning of a game or not.  Since pitching match-ups have so much to do with the outcome of the wager, the moneyline is used, and naturally, bettors are forced to lay higher odds that a run will be scored when lower-quality pitchers are used, just as they are forced to lay higher odds when two aces square off against each other.

One of the first things that baseball bettors should realize about first inning bets is that there is not a correlation between the game total and the first inning over/under etched in stone.

Baseball bettors do have several things working in their favor when placing a first inning bet. The first, is that bettors have the ability to pick and choose those wagers that offer good value. They can make bets only when they have the best of the odds.

The second advantage is that the first inning line is slanted towards being extremely pitcher oriented, with not quite enough weight given to the offensive capabilities of the teams involved.

Thus, what should the baseball bettor consider when betting on first innings?  Well, there are several factors that should be considered.  They are:

• You need to look at is who the pitchers are going to be in the game you are looking at.  If the pitcher is a powerhouse with a low ERA then you might end up leaning towards no runs scored in the first inning.  In addition, you should also look at the pitchers stats and see how many times they have allowed a run in the first inning.  Thus,  baseball bettors willing to spend the time to study both the starting pitchers and how often they allow first inning runs, as well as the teams themselves, are likely to come across several solid wagering opportunities each week.  If the pitcher allows a run in 60% of the first innings they play then you might lean towards the side of there will be a run scored.

• In addition to the pitchers, you should also look at the two teams offense.  If one team generally scores a run in the first inning, then you should lean towards that team scoring in the first inning.

However, I suggest that you put more weight on the pitchers in making these first inning bets. In most cases, since the pitchers are going to decide if you win this bet or not.  Thus, spend time researching the starting pitcher by looking at the pitcher’s past games.  What percentage of games has the starting pitcher given up a run in the first inning?  Finally, is the starting pitcher a strong starter but begins to fold in the fifth or sixth innings?  These are the types of questions you need to ask and research in order to make a good first inning bet.

Although nothing is guaranteed, you should be able to pick up on some nice patterns to make your first inning bet successful.  Try looking at several games a week where there is a strong offense and weak pitcher starting the game.  This is not really that difficult to do in betting the MLB.  If you do this, then you should win a large percentage of your games and over the long run you will start seeing nice profits.

Just remember, baseball players are going to play differently in the ninth inning as compared to the first.  It is important to realize this when you are trying to make a first inning bet.  This form of betting can be very profitable, but you will need to put in some extra research.
